Founded in 2022, the company uses mutual expertise with the help of the latest technologies with the aim of developing revolutionary, fully automated and AI-based systems and product solutions for the insurance industry.

Stefan M. Knoll is Founder and CEO at DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alois Knoll
Supervisory Board
Professor Alois Knoll is a professor at the TUM Department of Informatics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and head of the Chair of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Real-Time Systems.
Dr. Karsten Paetzmann

Karsten Paetzmann is CFO at DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG.
Marcus Wollny
Board of Directors
Marcus Wollny is an expert in artificial intelligence and has been a member of the Board of Management of DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG since 2018. In his role as CIO, he is responsible for advancing digitalization, IT and claims processing. Before joining DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG in 2015, he worked for a long time at a public health insurer, most recently as head of department.
Gereon Hinz
Board of Directors
Gereon Hinz is a cyberneticist, founder and CEO of STTech GmbH. Gereon Hinz has a long track record in artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. He served as invited conference chair, speaker, and workshop lead for various AI and standardization conferences. Gereon Hinz published scientific papers in autonomous driving, connectivity, intelligent infrastructure, medical AI, recommender, monitoring and energy systems. Since 2014 he organizes an autonomous driving lecture series at the TUM.
Dr. Maximilian Knoll
Board of Directors
Maximilian Knoll is a fully qualified lawyer and holds a Ph.D. in law. He is COO at DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG. Previously, he was a career civil servant at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Maximilian enriches Hyrance with operational/legal expertise from his function at DFV, in particular from claims management as well as regulatory expertise from his previous assignment.
